Manifesting: Real or a Hoax?

Contrary to popular belief, manifesting is much more than simply thinking, pretending and imagining ideas in our brain. This method takes practice and can be quite difficult to master. Our mind is a powerful place, and working to collectively outline all of our hopes and dreams as our current reality can be tricky. With the right tools, however, learning to implement this practice in your life could be well worth your time.
This concept can be viewed as a spiritual exercise, a procedure of seeking awareness into the subconscious mind or as simple as a means for self growth and positive reprogramming. The beautiful thing about manifestation is that it can mean whatever you would like it to mean to you. The core purpose of practicing this is to simply see the improvements you’ve been yearning for within your life.

Manifesting is commonly associated with “the law of attraction” which is a popular theory amongst many people based on the theory of quantum physics. This theory explains that everything that exists in our universe is energy (including our thoughts), and by aligning our own energy with universal energy it will allow us to manifest our thoughts into reality. In less complicated terms, positive thoughts and actions will always have positive outcomes, while negative thoughts and actions will always have negative outcomes. Have you ever considered that your thoughts are so powerful that they really could change your life completely? Well according to this theory, that is more than possible. You are the creator of your own dream reality, and by approaching the way you think in a different way it could lead you to experience drastic differences in your life in the best way possible!
How Do I Begin?
There are many different methods to the manifestation madness that exists out in our world. Some of the easiest or most beginner approaches you may want to start with are listed below:
-Powerful Affirmations
These are short and simple phrases that can be said out loud or repeated in your mind daily. They can boost your self confidence, manifest a better perspective of yourself and your life, or improve your mood. Focus on starting with areas of your life or the perspectives you have about yourself that you feel need the most transformation. These affirmations should be repeated in the present tense.
Examples of powerful affirmations:
“I am capable of achieving greatness”
“I am confident in who I am and what I stand for”
“I am kind and caring of those around me”
-Visualization Techniques
Our imagination is such a powerful place. We are capable of visualizing scenarios, situations and experiences in our minds before they happen. Use this power to create scenarios of your CURRENT self feeling joy and achieving your goals. Visualize them as if they are happening in present day.
Examples of visualization techniques:
Close your eyes and imagine your current self at your dream job interview. You are wearing your favorite outfit and looking better than you ever have before. You feel extremely confident with how you have prepared for the interview and are ready to impress everyone with your knowledge and skills. The interview itself goes exactly the way you want it to and the interviewer loves everything you bring to the table. You are successful in this endeavor and you get the job! You feel the joy and reality of this scenario and believe it will come true.
-Guided Meditations
Meditation is a helpful practice that can help quiet your mind or reroute your thoughts in a positive direction. Guided meditations often utilize powerful affirmations and visualization techniques in order to guide your mind to a better place and reprogram the way you think in a positive way. Additionally, if you are new to meditating and aren’t feeling confident that you are practicing in the most beneficial way for you , there are several different guided meditations that can assist you in getting started or continuing your practice.
-Intentional Journaling
Intentional or guided journaling can further aid you in manifesting your dreams into a reality. Just like repeatedly saying or thinking of powerful affirmations about yourself, you can write them down too. Reading and writing down affirmations about yourself is just as important, and can further engrain these mottos into your brain. This technique can also be beneficial by outlining your dreams and goals on paper to refer back to whenever you want. Journaling with intention can improve your productivity, inspire creativity and help you to better understand yourself and the goals you wish to achieve.
-Vision Boards
Creating a vision board is a great visualization technique that can transform your dreams and goals from your mind onto paper. Using words, pictures and other visuals can help paint the picture of what you would like your life to look like and manifest the dreams you have into the reality you’re living. Your board can represent anything you would like it to in order to help guide you through your self discovery and manifestation journey.
